Meteora, greek for hanging from the sky, is a unique geological rock formation that gives an once in a lifetime experience to the visitor. Having arrived with comfort and ease, after a 4 hour road trip from Athens, you will get the chance to travel back in time by visiting the Byzantine monasteries, some of them dating back to as early as the 12th century.

What to expect

Your driver will be waiting for you at your hotel or apartment in Athens, having everything ready to ensure you enjoy a smooth and comfortable trip. Our arrivals are set for early in the morning, usually 7am, to make sure that you get the most out of your day, but if you are not a big morning person feel free to reach out and we can provide alternatives.

Our first stop

Half way there, about 2 hours in, lies the famous Thermopylae battlefield where Leonidas and his 300 Spartan soldiers fought one of the most famous battles of mankind and was later made a Hollywood blockbuster, starring Gerard Butler. The statue of Leonidas is set at the field to forever remind us of their bravery and sacrfice for their homeland, ideas eternaly aspiring for everyone.

Usually at this point we take a small coffee or bathroom break but rest assured we can make other stops along the way if need be.

Arriving at Meteora

The awe feeling starts even before arriving, as you approach the rocks and that gives you time to brace yourself for what’s to follow. Your driver will make sure you will visit all the cool photo spots and visit the most monasteries based on your time and the schedule of the monasteries, which you can find here

Time to start getting back, but not before we get to try some local cuisine. Share with your driver your prefernces or dietary restrictions and he will make suggestions accordingly. Hope you enjoyed your and your mind and camera are full of unforgettable images.
